Following the EonNAS 3000 Series – designed for SMBs, remote/branch offices and enterprise departments – and the EonNAS Pro and 1000 Series – catering to the needs of SMBs and SOHO users, the EonNAS 5000 Series is the latest addition to Infortrend’s growing EonNAS family. Providing excellent scalability, optimised resource utilisation and strong data protection, the solutions enable users to meet a wide variety of application requirements and easily accommodate business growth.
The EonNAS 5120 solution now available in the EonNAS 5000 Series features Intel Xeon quad-core processors and up to 24GB cache memory, and offers 1GbE, 10GbE and Fibre Channel (FC) connectivity options in different configurations. Through storage capacity enclosures, the solution can support up to 96 disk drives.
Block-based data deduplication technology of the EonNAS 5000 Series ensures that duplicated data is removed, helping users achieve storage space savings of up to 90 percent and thereby greatly optimise resource utilisation and reduce costs. Thin provisioning further contributes to optimised utilisation.
The EonNAS 5000 Series also offers strong data protection. The embedded ZFS file system offers end-to-end data integrity by eliminating silent data corruption through an extensive hierarchical checksum mechanism. Snapshot and replication functionalities help users efficiently create data copies to protect against potential threats, while RAID technology adds yet another layer of protection.
Thomas Kao, director of product planning at Infortrend, said, “The EonNAS 5000 Series adds powerful solutions to our EonNAS family that enable us to better meet the requirements of enterprise environments. Combined with the EonNAS Pro, 1000 and 3000 Series, today’s launch of the new 5000 systems further strengthens our presence in the NAS market and offers our customers an even more comprehensive set of options.”
Infortrend today also announced new connectivity options in the EonNAS 3000 Series. Besides the existing configuration featuring four 1GbE ports, the EonNAS 3220 system now also offers extended connectivity featuring eight 1GbE ports.
Similar to the EonNAS 3220, the EonNAS 3230 system now offers extended connectivity with eight 1GbE ports. In addition, the EonNAS 3230 now also comes with 10GbE and 8Gb/s FC connectivity options, enabling users to integrate their systems in different existing datacentre infrastructures and serve a greater variety of applications.
